Terms & Conditions

To ensure precision in bespoke tailoring and commercial production lines, 1812 Society requires a standard production deposit prior to releasing any order into material procurement or manufacturing:

• Deposit Requirement: A minimum deposit of 50% of the total commercial invoice is required before technical CAD design, fabric cutting, or suit construction begins.
• Balance Payment: The remaining 50% balance must be settled in full prior to final international shipment or upon initial domestic delivery release.
• Specification Approval: For OEM and custom-tailored bulk orders, pre-production tech packs, measurements, fabric swatches, and custom trim selections must be approved in writing by the buyer before manufacturing execution.

Orders processed through 1812 Society involve immediate allocation of premium textiles, handcrafted canvases, and skilled master tailoring labor:

Standard Cancellation Period

Clients may cancel or request adjustments to their order without fee within three (3) business days of initial order submission and deposit receipt. Written notice must be provided directly to our commercial account team.

Post-Cut & In-Production Modifications

Once raw materials are cut or customized finishing has commenced, order cancellations are strictly non-refundable due to the custom-tailored nature of the garments. Any subsequent specification changes requested by the buyer will incur additional material and labor fees.

Fabric Availability & Supply Force Majeure

In the rare event that specified fabrics or trims become unavailable from European mills, 1812 Society will notify the buyer promptly to select an equivalent premium substitute or issue a full refund for the affected items without further liability.

We take pride in our artisan craftsmanship, utilizing floating horsehair canvas, hand-stitched lapels, and precision dimensional patterns. Our quality assurance protocol covers non-conforming items:

Defects & Measurement Errors

In the event of a verified production defect or dimensional discrepancy caused by 1812 Society, we reserve the right to either: (a) remake the affected garment according to original approved specifications, or (b) perform professional alterations to align the garment perfectly with the initial specification order.

Original Specification Adherence

Remakes and adjustments are strictly governed by the original technical parameters agreed upon during initial ordering. We are not responsible for alteration costs or remakes required due to subsequent client weight fluctuations, altered measurements post-production, or unauthorized third-party modifications.

While custom-tailored suits, bespoke tuxedos, and made-to-measure shirts are finalized upon production, standard non-custom stock accessories follow our commercial return protocol:

• Return Window: Unworn, un-altered stock merchandise in original brand packaging may be returned within 30 days of delivery.
• Restocking Fee: Approved returns are subject to a 10% commercial restocking fee to cover warehouse inspection and repackaging.
• Freight Responsibilities: The buyer retains responsibility for export/import shipping fees, transit insurance, and duties associated with returned goods.

1812 Society services corporate buyers, retail partners, and private clients worldwide with transparent freight terms:

Estimated Lead Times: Production leads and transit schedules are estimated based on mill shipping schedules and custom hand-finishing processes. While we strive to meet targeted dispatch dates, 1812 Society is not liable for international freight delays caused by customs hold-ups, carrier disruptions, or regional import procedures.

Incoterms & Duties: International commercial shipments are fulfilled under standard Ex-Works (EXW) or Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU/DAP) terms unless otherwise negotiated. The buyer is responsible for all local import tariffs, customs clearance taxes, and regional freight assessments.

Unclaimed & Abandoned Freight: Goods held in our corporate warehouse awaiting final delivery arrangement or balance payment for more than 120 days after initial client notification will be deemed abandoned and disposed of at 1812 Society's discretion.

All delivered shipments must be inspected upon receipt. Buyers must notify 1812 Society of any discrepancies or claims within ninety (90) days of shipment arrival. This agreement is governed by the commercial laws of the State of Ohio, USA. Electronic communications, digital CAD invoices, and written agreement approvals carry full legal validity under international trade standards.
